Describe your role at Centri
My role is to help make sure our websites are as bug-free as possible while also making sure they provide a good user experience. It's not just about finding bugs, I also like looking at how we work as a team, improving our QA processes, researching new tools, and working with others to make things better.
What do you do to deliver the best experience for prospective clients?
For me, it's about making sure our websites work as they should and that people have a smooth experience using them. The more issues we can catch before release, the better the experience is for our customers.
What does a day in your work life look like?
At the moment, I'm spending a lot of time testing new features, helping improve the way we do QA, looking into new tools, and working closely with the team to make sure we're releasing quality features.
What drew you to Centri?
I've always had a keen interest in cybersecurity, and it's something that's becoming more important every day. Being able to work on products that help people learn about cybersecurity and make the digital world a safer place was a big reason I wanted to join.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Probably the "what if I do this?" side of testing. I enjoy trying things people might not expect and seeing what happens.
What's your background?
I have over 14 years of experience in QA and software testing across different industries, both in management and hands-on testing roles. Before moving into QA, I worked in IT support, helping customers troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
What are your ambitions for Centri and your career in particular?
I genuinely believe Centri has the potential to become one of the leading cybersecurity training providers in the world, and I'm excited to be part of that journey. Personally, I'd like to continue learning more about cybersecurity, as it helps me become a better tester for our product. Whenever I get the chance, I've been working through some of Centri's free and junior courses to build my knowledge.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Outside of work, I have quite a few hobbies. I enjoy gaming, playing guitar, anything car-related, collectables, fishing, poker, and keeping fit. Most importantly though, I enjoy spending time with my family.
What did you want to be when you were a kid?
Looking back, I'd probably say a skateboarder! I spent a lot of my childhood on a skateboard. There's still one hiding in the garage somewhere, although I'm not sure my knees would appreciate me getting back on it these days!
